The Numbats @ Six Degrees

The Numbats are back, which is a bit like finding your favourite old jumper in the back of the wardrobe – familiar, comfortable and exactly what you need on a Saturday night. This Albany trio specialises in folk country rock covers, which is a fancy way of saying they play songs you already know, with a bit of a stomp. They have the rare skill of reading a room, so if the crowd looks like it needs a slow one, they’ll throw in a sad country tune, and if everyone is three drinks in, they’ll crank up the pub rock. Either way, no one is going to be scratching their head wondering what the next song is.

The show is at Six Degrees Goldroom on Stirling Terrace, which is handily within walking distance of most of Albany’s pubs, so you can roll in without needing a designated driver. Free entry, which means you can spend your money on a middy instead of a cover charge. It kicks off at 8.30pm on Saturday 5 September 2026 and wraps up at 11pm, leaving you just enough time to decide whether to head home or find somewhere else to become someone else’s problem. The Numbats: reliable, crowd friendly and about as risky as ordering a chicken parmi at a country pub.
